Cryolipolysis - Coolsculpting Technology
What is Cryolipolysis?
Cryolipolysis commonly refers to as ‘CoolSculpting’ by patients, uses cold temperature to break down fat cells. The fat cells are particularly susceptible to the effects of cold, unlike other types of cells, while the fat cells freeze, the skin and after structure are spared from injury, this is one of the most popular nonsurgical fat reduction treatment, with over 450,000 procedure performed worldwide.
Reasons patients want Cryolipolysis
Patients who wish to reduce a localized fat bulge that has persisted despite diet and exercise may be interested in Cryolipolysis.
Who is not a candidate for Cryolipolysis?
Patients with cold-related condition, like cryoglobulinemia, should not have Cryolipolysis. Patients with loose skin or peer tone may not be suitable candidates for the procedure.
What does Cryolipolysis do?
The goal of Cryolipolysis is to reduce the volume of fat in a fatty bulge. Some patients may opt to have more than one area treated or to retreat an area more than once.
Does Cryolipolysis require anaesthesia?
This procedure is done without anaesthesia.
After an assessment of the dimensions and shape of the fatty bulge to be treated, an applicator of the appropriate size and curvature is chosen. The area of concern in marked to identify the site for applicator placement. A gel pad is placed to protect the skin. The applicator is applied and the bulge is vacuumed into the hollow of the applicator. The temperature inside the applicator change and as it goes up, the area numbs. Patients sometimes experience discomfort from the suction’s pull on the tissue, but this resolves within minutes, once the area is released.
What are the risks of Cryolipolysis?
The complication rate is low and the satisfaction rate is high. There is a risk of surface irregularities and asymmetry. Patients may not get the result they hoped for. Rarely, in less than 1 percent patients may have paradoxical fat hyperplasia, which is an unexpected increase in the number of fat cells. This is three times more likely in men than in women and is seen more in those of Hispanic or Latino descent.
What are the results of Cryolipolysis?
Those injured fat cells are gradually eliminated by the body over 4 to 6 months. During that time the fatty bulge decreases in size, with an average fat reduction of about 20 percent.
What happens during a Cryolipolysis procedure?
During the Cryolipolysis procedure, your provider places a protective gel pad over your skin before applying the paddle or applicator. It is a Cool Sculpting procedure, your skin and subcutaneous fat get suctioned into the paddle which lowers the temperature of the targeted tissue, Freezing numbs the area, and you will feel and intense cooling sensation. After the provider removes the paddle they will massage the frozen fat, to smooth things out. Treatment takes 35 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the area you’re having done. Most people need a series of three Cryolipolysis treatments for the best results.
How soon will you see Cryolipolysis results?
The results of Cryolipolysis for fat reduction are not immediate. Since the fat slowly leaves the body over time, you can expect to see initial results within three or four weeks, more defined results within six to eight weeks and final results within six months. Some practitioners recommend massaging the area for about five minutes every to improve results.
How long do Cryolipolysis results last?
While the fat removal is permanent, beat in mind that you are destroying only a fraction of existing fat cells in the treatment area. Any remaining fat cells can enlarge with weight gain. Since Cryolipolysis is not intended to be a weight-loss tool, it’s best for people who are within 20 pounds of their ideal weight.
Introducing the innovative Cryolipolysis treatment for chin for reduction. Cryolipolysis fat freeing is a well-known clinically proven fat reduction technique. Its most common application is the abdomen, but the same effective principles can be applies to double chins, and chins with unwanted fat. Existing technologies were only able to freeze he chin from two sides, which is why we developed the chin freeze applicator, to provide a consistent freeze from all angles.
Chin Freezing can reduce fat by up to 40%. Results can be improved by combining the procedure with our radio frequency chin reduction. Results typically occur gradually throughout 12 weeks following the treatment.
Chin Freeze Science
The applicator cools the chin fat to -7 degrees and holds the temperature using advanced thermal monitoring sensors. Fat cells can’t survive at this sustained temperature and subsequently die. The dead fat cells leave the body via lymphatic system. Once renewed, they cannot return.
